The Tiger Cub program (1st Grade) is a way for you and your son to spend quality time together, as a team. To SEARCH out new friends and activities, to DISCOVER new ideas (and a potentially very rewarding new relationship with each other) and to SHARE these with others. Above all to have FUN, a lot of FUN! The Tiger Cub Handbook provides a terrific overview of how this program works. You will have plenty of resource materials available as well as being part of Cub Scout Pack 889. This is an exciting program for both the Tiger and the Adult Partner. In addition to the Pack information and resources, the Committee will always be glad to answer questions.
All the Tiger/Adult Partner teams take a turn hosting a den meeting. Twice a month, the Den Leader and the Adult Partner Host will hold a one hour Den meeting based on a monthly theme or following parts of an achievement. It's Fun and really not a lot of work either. You can meet at your house, the park, or anywhere you decide! Your Tiger Den should meet twice a month for meetings, and have a "Go See It" activity once a month in addition to participating in the regular Pack Meeting. The Adult Partners and Den Leader will decide on the Tiger Den meeting schedule.
The first Rank your Tiger cubs will work on is the Bobcat Rank.

Tiger Scouts are not tested to make sure they have memorized each and every Bobcat requirement. What we prefer is that at each Den meeting you might revisit one or another requirement so that they eventually do know and understand the Cub Scout Promise, the Law of the Pack, the Cub Scout Sign/Handshake/Motto/Salute. We will not be expecting them to demonstrate all of these in front of everyone at the first Pack meeting! But please do go over all of the requirements at least once in order to earn the Bobcat rank.
